Jen Herrick is responsible for programming and managing the survey systems that power our market research data collection.

Q: What's your role and what do you focus on day-to-day?
I focus on quantitative research and survey management – designing and running online studies that capture high-quality insights, troubleshooting challenges in real time, and ensuring the data tells a clear, actionable story. I also collaborate across teams to refine methodologies and share best practices, turning complex survey results into practical recommendations that drive real impact.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your work?
I appreciate the balance of structure and creativity in programming. Developing new ways to visually represent survey ideas keeps things interesting, and it’s rewarding to watch a study evolve from concept to completion.

Q: How did you get started in research and analytics?
I got started in research and analytics when I joined PROOF Insights as a programmer for market research phone surveys. Over the years, I’ve grown with the company, adapting to new methodologies as the industry evolved, including the transition to Internet-based surveys. Today, I leverage that experience as a senior programmer, contributing to complex research and analytics projects across multiple platforms.”

Q: What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I’m a longtime fan of Japan and anime, and I love attending conventions whenever I can—there’s always something new to enjoy!

Q: What does your ideal vacation look like?
Traveling to experience new cultures is one of my favorite things to do! I love exploring on small cruise lines, which let me get a “taste” of different places—then I plan longer trips to the ones that really inspire me.

Q: One thing you can’t live without?
Knitting. I picked it up about ten years ago and never looked back! It’s my favorite way to relax, and I love ending up with something cozy to wear—or to share as a gift.
