Katie Crain was the former General Manager of Actionable Research Inc, focused on operations and client success.

Q: What's your role and what do you focus on day-to-day?
Project management within our oral and medical healthcare division. I'm on the ground – steering studies from research design to insight delivery, ensuring on-track movement at every stage, with the question of research applicability always at the forefront.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your work?
The intersection of numbers and words, the place where data comes together to tell a story, to inform and direct.

Q: How did you get started in research and analytics?
It was a logical place to apply mathematical study and analytic training in a way that was tangible and relevant. And I stay because there's always a new puzzle around the corner, something novel to discover.

Q: What's something people might be surprised to learn about you?
Hmm…my wishful-thinking heart's ambition is to run a St. Bernard rescue high in the Rocky Mountains.

Q: What does your ideal vacation look like?
Staycation for sure. Quiet time at home. Endless hours to read and bake. Family and friends coming to visit.

Q: One thing you can't live without?
No laughing – it's Q-tips. I have them everywhere – desk, car, drawers. During my one and only Q-tip-related urgent care visit I was told I have the cleanest ears they'd ever seen. But could probably be a bit less aggressive. Ah well.
