David Cristofaro

David Cristofaro is the former founder and President of Actionable Research Inc. a primary research firm focused in the healthcare, dental and life science markets with over 25 years of experience.

Q: What's your role and what do you focus on day-to-day?
As PROOF Insights' Vice President of Healthcare Insights, I am focused on bringing the very best research methods available to my clients, based on the challenges and opportunities they are seeking to manage or leverage, respectively. This requires a constant focus on finding and applying the most effective methods and tools available today. I view every research project my clients trust PROOF Insights with as a new opportunity to find opportunities for gains that hadn't been identified before.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your work?
Finding opportunities for competitive advantage for my clients and helping them leverage their research investments to the greatest extent possible for optimal market success. I am grateful to have provided research solutions to some of the world's greatest healthcare and dental brands, including JnJ Ethicon, Medtronic, Align Technology, A-dec, Nvidia, Intel, Pfizer, Bio-Rad, Thermo Fisher Scientific and many others; this is the greatest reward any researcher could ever receive.

Q: How did you get started in research and analytics?
I began my research career in 1999 when we founded Clearvision Research / IntiMetrix to automate customer loyalty research for Web 1.0. When the markets fell during the dot com retrenchment, I was determined to become good at marketing research. As a chemical engineer by education, I enjoy problem solving using analytics and I found the market research process was very rewarding for me and my natural curiosity about how things work and what governs their behavior. When I was a kid, my parents had to deal with my taking everything apart to see how it worked; I guess I like to do the same with processes and the people who drive them.

Q: What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I have been a drummer in several rock bands since I was in high school, and have released 3 albums worth of music playing drums for a band called The Rewinders, who have a Beatlesque sound with heavier overtones and lots of harmonies. Music performance has been a very therapeutic artistic outlet for me.

Q: What does your ideal vacation look like?
I love tropical places where fruity cocktails are served, where I can split my time between hiking and relaxing with a book in the sun.

Q: One thing you can’t live without?
My family and faith; they are the ultimate drivers of all the good things in my life.
