Andy Stacey heads up Proof Insights' Consumer Insights team and has taken part in literally thousands of primary research projects during his tenure.
Q: What's your role and what do you focus on day-to-day?
I lead our consumer insights team focusing primarily on quantitative research, guiding clients through the entire research process from defining objectives to delivering actionable insights. My daily focus is on matching the right methodology to your research objective and translating complex data into clear, strategic recommendations.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love getting an early look at emerging products and services across various industries, which keeps my work consistently fresh and engaging along with distilling complex data into clear, digestible insights that genuinely help our clients achieve their goals.
Q: How did you get started in research and analytics?
I got my start in data collection from the phone center at PROOF (then M&RR), and as research evolved towards the internet, I transitioned to the research team. This shift allowed me to delve into all the data I had helped collect over the years, sparking an interest in leveraging insights to help clients achieve their business goals.
Q: What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I’ve never been on a job interview! I've never worked anywhere but PROOF Insights, having dedicated 30 years and counting to this company. It's a testament to the opportunities for growth and advancement PROOF has always offered me.
Q: What does your ideal vacation look like?
Probably an epic golf trip across Scotland, playing a different golf course from The Open Championship rota every single day.
Q: One thing you can’t live without?
A good book! I’m an avid reader (mostly fiction) and my favorite authors are Khaled Hosseini, Ken Follett and Kazuo Ishiguro.
